Behind the scenes, it was no small feat to hand-select the various vendors you will find in our zero waste Boutique because the bar was set pretty darn high.

However this is truly a labor of love and a lifelong passion to continuously find the most superior products that feel good on our bodies and are simultaneously good to Mother Earth.

  1. Only the safest, non-toxic ingredients will cut it for our family (and yours). Therefore we only offer products we love and use ourselves. This means:

    1. Clean ingredients - free of petrochemicals & sulfates and if they aren’t organic then they are natural or wild crafted.

    2. Conscious manufacturing - no slave labor and no testing of ingredients or final products on animals

    3. Quality Products - sensitive skin approved and doesn’t clutter up our routine

In order for the product to be something that we would use on our very sensitive and very precious bodies we have to ensure that the ingredients are clean, conscious and quality. This means organic, free of petrochemicals, sulfates, natural, non-toxic, etc If we can’t easily pronounce or reasonably understand the ingredient then we simply don’t consider it. We also do not believe in testing the ingredients or products on animals or having them manufactured by slave labor. It’s a high bar but one we will never sacrifice on.

  2. For something to be good for us, it has to also be good for the environment. Meaning:

    1. Zero Waste Packaging - we aim to reduce as much plastic as possible starting by completely eliminating it at the consumer level.

    2. Reduced Carbon Emissions - We start with our local vendors first, and work our way out to bring you the highest quality products.

    3. Eliminating the unnecessary transport of water - with dehydrated formula options as an alternative to conventional choices.

We consider the environmental factor of how the bulk product is packaged and shoot for as low to no plastic as possible. Of course, we are ditching single use plastic at the consumer level with the BYO model at our refill bar, yay!! However, there are some bulk products that simply have to be packaged in plastic for shipping or other considerations and in this case we work with the vendor or Terra Cycle to ensure that the plastic actually does get properly reused or recycled. We aim for our product selection to be as close to home as possible which is why our refill bar is filled with many Northern Colorado companies, and even a few from Fort Collins specifically. These days we are always thinking “outside the bottle” and have curated some dehydrated or concentrated formulas that have very cleverly removed the water from their end of the process which cuts down on the carbon emissions when shipping something without water. And this allows for you, the consumer to control how much water you use, and when.

By intentionally taking into account the environmental side of the raw materials, packaging, transport, lifecycle and afterlife, as well as the human & animal element of those manufacturing the goods we are pleased to offer an alternative way to shop for life’s essentials.
